Unseasonably strong east to southeast winds develop this evening in response to a storm system moving northward through the Gulf of Alaska. Expect sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 to 50 mph through Turnagain Arm, the higher elevation portions of the Seward and Sterling Highways, and around Kachemak Bay. Please use caution if driving or towing a high profile vehicle, or if planning any outdoor activities with easily lofted objects.
