Description:
At 614 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Parsons, moving
southeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Parsons, Davis, Thomas, Hendricks, Hambleton, Hannahsville,
Benbush, Lead Mine, Blackwater Falls, Davisville, Elk, Saint
George, Silver Lake, Canaan Hgts, Canaan Valley State Park, Red
Creek, Cortland, Elgon, Aurora and Cathedral State Park.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds.
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
