...The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in West Virginia...
West Fork River At Weston affecting Harrison and Lewis Counties.
For the West Fork River...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...West Fork River at Weston.
* WHEN...From this evening to Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Lower portions of the railroad bridge, 0.8
miles downstream from the river gage begin to flood. At 20.1 feet,
Water is over River Avenue, about 200-400 feet downstream from the
river gage. Some homes are also flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 18.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 8:45 PM EDT Tuesday was 18.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.0 feet
just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage
late tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.8
feet on 11/19/2003.
