South Central Clay County in north central West Virginia...
West Central Nicholas County in southeastern West Virginia...
* Until 315 PM EDT.
* At 112 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is already occurring on US-19 near Muddlety.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Summersville, Kesslers Cross Lanes, Drennan and Canvas.
This includes Route 19 between mile markers 38 and 46.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
