Description:
At 236 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Pleasant Valley to near Salem. Movement was
east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Clarksburg, Grafton, Philippi, Bridgeport, Shinnston, Stonewood,
Nutter Fort, Salem, Lumberport, Anmoore, Enterprise, West Milford,
Lost Creek, Flemington, Valley Falls, Knottsville, Wolf Summit,
Meadland, Tygart Lake State Park, and Thornton.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 79 between mile markers 111 and 128.
Route 50 in West Virginia between mile markers 63 and 82.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
