Description:
At 427 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Sissonville to near Cross Lanes to Nitro.
Movement was southeast at 5 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Nitro, Sissonville, Poca, Cross Lanes, and Teays Valley.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 110 and 117.
Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 43 and 49.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
