Description:
At 743 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Pinch, or 13 miles east of Charleston, moving southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Fayetteville, Clay, Montgomery, Chesapeake, Marmet, Ansted, Belle,
Clendenin, Cedar Grove, East Bank, Glasgow, Smithers, Gauley Bridge,
Pratt, Glen, Hawks Nest State Park, Coal Fork, Powellton, Handley,
and Procious.
This includes the following highways...
West Virginia Turnpike near mile marker 83, and between mile markers
87 and 90.
Route 19 between mile markers 18 and 20, between mile markers 47 and
48, and between mile markers 50 and 52.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
