* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia, including the following county, Giles and southeast West Virginia, including the following counties, Mercer, Monroe and Summers. * WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 257 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Adair Run, Brush Creek, Lick Creek, Little Island Creek, Hales Branch, East River, Island Creek, Daves Fork, New River, Hackett Creek, Big Spring Branch and Crooked Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.8 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
