The City of Norton in southwestern Virginia... * Until 1245 AM EDT. * At 847 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen already this afternoon, with 1 to 2 inches of that occurring in the last hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area as more storms move in from southeast Kentucky. As such, flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
