* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Virginia, including the following independent city, City of Lynchburg. * WHEN...Until 630 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 324 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms was approaching the City of Lynchburg. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.3 and 0.5 inches of rain have fallen already from an early storm. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Burton Creek, Ivy Creek, Fishing Creek, Blackwater Creek, James River, Harris Creek, Flat Creek and Dreaming Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area by 345 PM EDT. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
