Description: 
* WHAT...Dry wash and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall has occurred in Lower Sigurd Canyon. HW 24 is closed in both directions between milepost 10-13 due to debris on the road. * WHERE...A portion of central Utah, including the following county, Sevier. * WHEN...Until 515 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry washes in lower Sigurd Canyon along HW 24 between milepost 11 and 13. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 408 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This is causing dry wash and small stream flooding, with debris being deposited on HW 24 between milepost 10-13. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen from earlier thunderstorms. - Minor flooding has caused debris over the Highway in Lower Sigurd Canyon. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sigurd.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
