Description:
At 229 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Swansboro, or 9 miles southeast of Piney Green, moving east at 30
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Morehead City, Stella, Swansboro, Hubert, Cape Carteret, Silverdale,
Kuhns, Peletier, Broad Creek, Bogue, Bogue Inlet Pier, and Cedar
Point.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
