Description:
At 639 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Mount Olive, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Goldsboro, Mount Olive, Walnut Creek, Pikeville, Seven Springs,
Hobbton, Mar-Mac, Brogden, Cliffs Of The Neuse State Park, and Elroy.
This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 347 and 358.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
