Description:
At 352 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10
miles east of Benson, or 13 miles south of Smithfield, moving east at
20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Newton Grove and Grantham.
This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 332 and 344.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
central North Carolina.
