At 337 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Rocky Mount to Elm City. Movement was east at
35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Elm City, Princeville, Sharpsburg, Pinetops,
Macclesfield, Leggett, Willbanks, and Kingsboro.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
central North Carolina.
