Description:
At 459 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Biscoe, or near Troy, moving northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Troy, Carthage, North Carolina Zoo, Siler City, Biscoe, Goldston,
Seagrove, Ramseur, Robbins, and Foxfire.
This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 33 and 69.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
