Description: 
At 309 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Plymouth to near River Road to near Tuscarora. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... New Bern, Washington, Plymouth, River Road, James City, Trent Woods, River Bend, Belhaven, Ransomville, Ponzer, Pinetown, Pungo, Blounts Creek, Vanceboro, Askins, Cayton, Columbia, Tuscarora, Jasper, and Rhems.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for eastern North Carolina.
