Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...West Central Rowan County in the piedmont of North
Carolina...
* WHEN...Until 445 AM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
River or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 438 PM EDT, Storm totals rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches
caused streams in the Second Creek watershed to rise above
bankfull. While tributaries have crested and receded below
bankfull, the stream gauge on Second Creek near US-70 shows
Second Creek remains above action stage. Therefore, nuisance
flooding of adjacent low-lying areas is on going and will
continue for the next several hours.
