Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...West Central Caldwell County in western North Carolina...
* WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 516 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and
2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Locally heavy rainfall over Wilson Creek and Estes Mill Creek is
producing excessive runoff which may lead to isolated to nuisance
flooding of small streams may be imminent. Areas of greatest
concern include near Brown Mountain Beach Road and NC 90 in the
Mortimer community.
