Description:
At 321 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Woodbourne, or
8 miles east of Liberty, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Fallsburg, Neversink, South Fallsburg, Woodridge, Grahamsville, Loch
Sheldrake, Hurleyville, Woodbourne, and Hasbrouck.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central New
York.
A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place
of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small
interior room.
