At 503 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles south of Piercefield, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake Village, Lake Placid, North Elba, Tupper Lake, Piercefield, St Armand, Harrietstown, Keene, Newcomb, Wilmington, North Hudson, Colton, Conifer, Ray Brook, Lake Colby, Wawbeek, Horseshoe Lake, Mount Marcy, and Mount Van Hoevenberg.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
