Description: 
At 940 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Rotterdam Junction, or near Scotia, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Schenectady, Troy, Clifton Park, Rotterdam, Cohoes, Watervliet, Scotia, Latham, Glenville, Niskayuna, Menands, Green Island, Waterford, Rotterdam Junction, East Glenville, Burnt Hills, Country Knolls, Center Brunswick, Alplaus, and Wyantskill. This includes the following highways... Interstate 90 near exit 26. Interstate 890 between exits 1a and 8. Interstate 87 between exits 4 and 7, and between exits 8A and 10. Interstate 787 between exits 7 and 9.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized poor drainage flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
