Description: 
At 904 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Fort Johnson to near Delanson to Summit. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Clifton Park, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Cohoes, Watervliet, Colonie, Scotia, Mechanicville, Cobleskill, Fonda, Delmar, Latham, Guilderland, Glenville, Niskayuna, Duanesburg, and Menands. This includes the following highways... Interstate 88 between exits 20 and 25. Interstate 90 between exits 6A and 28. Interstate 890 between exits 1a and 9. Interstate 87 between exits 23 and 7, and between exits 8A and 12. Interstate 787 between exits 5 and 9.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for eastern and east central New York.
