* WHAT...Temperatures up to 106 expected.
* WHERE...In New Mexico, Southeast Tularosa Basin, Southern Dona Ana
County/Mesilla Valley, and West Central Tularosa Basin/White
Sands. In Texas, Eastern/Central El Paso County, Rio Grande Valley
of Eastern El Paso/Western Hudspeth Counties, Rio Grande Valley of
Eastern Hudspeth County, Salt Basin, and Western El Paso County.
* WHEN...From 11 AM to 7 PM MDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.
Instruction:
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
