* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico... * WHEN...Until 415 AM MDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 120 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area late Saturday evening. Between 1.25 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Central Chaves County. - Low water crossings along New Mexico Road 249 east of Hagerman may become impassable tonight. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
