Description:
At 240 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms ending over the
warned portion of the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon Burn Scar. From 1 to 2
inches of rain has fallen near the headwaters of area streams. Flash
flooding is likely ongoing.
Dangerous runoff is expected to impact Rito San Jose, Sapello River,
and especially Manuelitas Creek. The debris flow can consist of rock,
mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms in and around the
Hermits Peak Calf Canyon Burn Scar.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Sapello, San Ignacio, Rociada, and Manuelitas.
This includes State Road 518 between Mile Markers 12 and 14.
Instruction:
This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks, streams and ditches in
the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also
be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away
in places. If you encounter flood waters, climb to safety.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
