Description: 
At 832 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Farmington, moving west at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, frequent lightning, and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Farmington, Aztec, Shiprock, Kirtland, Ojo Amarillo, Upper Fruitland, Fruitland, Nenahnezad, NAPI Headquarters and Flora Vista. This includes Highway 64 between Mile Markers 23 and 58.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce visibility below one quarter mile at times.
