Description:
At 515 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong outflow boundary
extending from 6 miles east of San Jon to near Cannon Air Force Base,
moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Clovis, Texico, San Jon, Grady, Broadview, Bellview, Ranchvale,
Wheatland, Cannon Air Force Base and Oasis State Park.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 354 and 373. Highway 60 between
Mile Markers 375 and 397.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibility below one quarter mile at times.
