Description: 
At 1216 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Elwood to near Hendley. Movement was east at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Elwood, Smithfield, and Johnson Lake around 1220 AM CDT. Edison around 1225 AM CDT. Bertrand around 1230 AM CDT. Oxford and Overton around 1235 AM CDT. This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 235 and 254.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CDT for south central Nebraska.
