Description:
* WHAT...Very steep and hazardous seas of 12 to 16 feet,
decreasing to 10 to 14 feet Thursday. Southwest winds 20 to 30
kt with gusts to 35 kt possible in heavier showers.
* WHERE...Yap Coastal Waters.
* WHEN...For the Hazardous Seas Warning, until 5 AM ChST
Thursday. For the Small Craft Advisory, from 5 AM Thursday to
5 PM ChST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Very steep and hazardous seas could capsize or cause
damage to vessels.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gale-force gusts are possible near heavier
showers. Although winds will likely fall below hazardous levels
before Friday afternoon, seas may remain at hazardous levels
around 10 feet.
Instruction:
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions.
