* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Missouri, including the following counties, Cedar and Polk. * WHEN...Until 730 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 243 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following low water crossings... Weaubleau Creek at Highway V, Ingalls Creek at Highway HH, Slagle Creek at 86 Road, Deer Creek at Highway YY and Bear Creek at 60th Road. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Bolivar, Stockton, Humansville, Fair Play, Morrisville, Polk, Halfway, Flemington, Aldrich, Umber View Heights, Dunnegan, Eudora, Bearcreek, Masters, Goodson, Cane Hill, Pomme de Terre Lake, Stockton Lake and Stockton State Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
