Description: 
At 640 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Water Valley, moving northwest at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Oxford, Batesville, Water Valley, George Payne State Park, Holly Springs National Forest, John W Kyle State Park, Crowder, Pope, Springdale, Burgess, Enid, Scobey, Oakland, Courtland, Taylor, Shuford, Mims, Asa, Tillatoba, and Glenville. This includes Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 218 and 251.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern Mississippi.
