Description:
* WHAT...For the Dense Smoke Advisory, dense smoke will reduce
visibility to less than 1 nautical mile. For the Small Craft
Advisory, west winds 10 to 20 knots and waves 3 to 6 feet
expected.
* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Ripley to
Buffalo.
* WHEN...For the Dense Smoke Advisory, until midnight EDT
tonight. For the Small Craft Advisory, from 10 AM to 10 PM EDT
Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Winds and/or waves will cause hazardous conditions
that could capsize or damage small craft. Low visibility will
make navigation difficult.
Instruction:
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.
