Description:
* WHAT...For the Dense Smoke Advisory, dense smoke will reduce
visibility to 2 to 3 NM. For the Small Craft Advisory, Highest
gusts up to 30 kts from the northwest and highest waves around
6 feet expected.
* WHERE...5NM East of Mackinac Bridge to Presque Isle Light MI
including Bois Blanc Island and Presque Isle Light to Sturgeon
Pt MI Including Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
* WHEN...For the Dense Smoke Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this
evening. For the Small Craft Advisory, from 5 AM Saturday to 5
AM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Low
visibility will make navigation difficult.
Instruction:
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.
