Stream flooding on Middle Branch of the Root River in Fillmore
County caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
* WHAT...Stream flooding on Middle Branch of Root River caused by
excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Northwestern Fillmore County in southeastern Minnesota...
* WHEN...Until 1115 PM CDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1112 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 4.5 and 6.5 inches
of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.
