Description:
At 552 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Grand Lake Stream, or 22 miles southwest of Vanceboro, moving
southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Calais, Princeton, Topsfield, Meddybemps, Grand Lake Stream, Fowler
Township, Baileyville, Robbinston, Alexander, Charlotte, Baring,
Cooper, Crawford, Waite, Big Lake, and Fowler.
This includes the following highways...
US Highway 1 between Calais and Waite.
State Highway 9 between Alexander and Calais.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
