Amite River At Port Vincent affecting Livingston and Ascension Parishes. For the Amite And Comite Rivers...including Olive Branch, Comite Joor Rd, Darlington, Grangeville, Magnolia, Denham Springs, Bayou Manchac Point, Bayou Manchac Near Little Prairie, Port Vincent, French Settlement, Maurepas...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Amite River at Port Vincent. * WHEN...From Saturday morning until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Some flooding will occur in low lying residential, commercial, and recreational areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 3.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Saturday morning and continue rising to a crest of 8.5 feet early Monday morning. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.7 feet on 03/08/1992. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
