increased in duration for the following rivers in Louisiana...
Tchefuncte River Near Folsom affecting St. Tammany Parish.
.The river forecast includes 48 hours of forecasted rainfall. These
river forecasts could change based on how Potential Tropical Cyclone
1 tracks across Louisiana and Mississippi late tonight and Thursday.
Interests along the rivers should monitor the forecast closely and be
prepared for significant flooding.
For the Tchefuncte River...including Folsom...Major flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Tchefuncte River near Folsom.
* WHEN...Until Friday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Louisiana Highway 40 will overflow the west
bank by the bridge. Evacuation of the area around Spring Park and
Albert Thompson roads should be complete. At 21.0 feet, There will
be water in homes near Savannah Branch. Evacuation will be required
near Bennet Bridge Road. There will be water over low lying
stretches of Louisiana Highway 1077 downstream of the Highway 40
bridge. Evacuation of the area around Spring Park and Albert
Thompson Roads should be complete.

- At 11:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 19.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 21.0 feet late this afternoon.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

feet on 02/02/1988.
