Description:
At 520 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms 11 miles southwest of Brownsville-Bawcomville, moving
southwest at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty thunderstorm downdraft winds could knock down tree
limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Monroe, Claiborne, West Monroe, Winnfield, Jonesboro, Columbia,
Brownsville-Bawcomville, Brownsville-Bawcom, Richwood, Olla,
Clarks, Grayson, Urania, Choudrant, Chatham, Tullos, Dodson, Eros
and Sikes.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
