Description:
At 231 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from French Settlement to near Robert. Movement was
north at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Hammond, Denham Springs, Amite, Ponchatoula, Walker, Amite City,
Livingston, Independence, French Settlement, Albany, Port Vincent,
Springfield, Montpelier, Watson, Natalbany, Robert, Whitehall,
Killian, and Tickfaw.
This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 12 between mile markers 12 and 53.
Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 20 and 47.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

office in New Orleans.
