Description: 
At 210 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms capable of producing funnel clouds and waterspouts along a line extending from Donaldsonville to South Vacherie. Movement was northwest at 10 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts, funnel clouds and winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Gonzales, Donaldsonville, St. Gabriel, Gramercy, Lutcher, White Castle, Sorrento, South Vacherie, Geismar, Convent, North Vacherie, Wallace, Carville, Belle Rose, Chackbay, Garyville, and Edgard. This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 176 and 187.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
