Description: 
At 119 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts over marine areas over Montegut, or 12 miles southeast of Houma, moving west at 5 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts and winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Montegut, Chauvin, and Dulac.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Conditions are favorable for the development of brief funnel clouds or weak waterspouts near marine areas. These waterspouts are typically weak and short-lived, but they can still pose a hazard to boaters and anyone near the water. Do not apporach a waterspout. If one moves towards your location, move indoors. If you are on the water, seek safe harbor immediately.
