Description:
At 549 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Powell Valley, or 7 miles west of Stanton, moving
east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Stanton, Jeffersonville, Clay City, Clay Lick, Means, Levee, Bowen,
Cornwell, Kimbrell, Rothwell, Cedar Groves, Slade, Bean,
Waltersville, Fagan, Virden, Vaughns Mill, Hardwick, Rosslyn, and
Knowlton.
THIS INCLUDES Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway between mile markers 12
and 34.
Instruction:
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
