Description:
At 1233 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 4 miles north of Louisville
to Ogden to 5 miles north of Moonlight. Movement was east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Strong wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Manhattan, Junction City, Wamego, Westmoreland, St. Marys, Ogden,
Grandview Plaza, Wakefield, Riley, St. George, Milford, Leonardville,
McFarland, Belvue, Emmett, Louisville, Delia, Milford Lake, Keats,
and Tuttle Creek Lake.
This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 287 and 331.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 300 AM CDT for
central, north central, northeastern and east central Kansas. A
Severe Thunderstorm Watch also remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for
northeastern and east central Kansas.
