Muscatatuck River at Vernon. .Heavy rainfall of 2 to 2.5 inches yesterday evening and overnight will bring minor flooding to the Muscatatuck River in and near the Vernon area. Once the river at Vernon reaches crest it will quickly fall with no additional appreciable rainfall expected today. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Muscatatuck River at Vernon. * WHEN...From this afternoon to just after midnight tonight. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Flooding of lowlands begin. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 14.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.0 feet this afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
