Description:
At 1237 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Weldon, or 10 miles southeast of Clinton, moving northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Monticello, Argenta, De Land, Weldon, Cisco, De Witt, Clinton Power
Station, Lane, and Weldon Springs State Park.
This includes Interstate 72 between mile markers 151 and 166.
This also includes Clinton Lake State Recreation Area.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for
central Illinois.
