Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of north central Illinois, including the
following county, La Salle.
* WHEN...Until 545 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Roads
and streets may be flooded. Slow moving or standing water may
continue.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 235 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated thunderstorms producing torrential rainfall moving
over the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen in portions of western LaSalle County.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the advisory area. Runoff from the rain that has fallen
and the additional rain will likely result in areas of
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ottawa, Streator, Peru, La Salle, Marseilles, Sheridan,
Oglesby, Seneca, North Utica, Serena, Tonica, Grand Ridge,
Naplate, Dayton, Lostant, Ransom, Rutland, Cedar Point,
Kangley and Troy Grove.

Instruction:
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
