* WHAT...Flooding caused by multiple rounds of thunderstorms continues. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following county, DuPage. * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding is expected to continue along the East branch of the DuPage River near Morton Arboretum. Water will continue to impact a portion of Route 53 and surrounding roads and trails. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1140 AM CDT, flooding was occurring in the warned area. In the past 48 hours, between 3 and 5 inches of rain has fallen. - The worst flooding is occurring near the DuPage River in Downers Grove and Lisle, particularly near the Morton Arboretum. - The main impacted area in the Flood Advisory is along Route 53 near the Morton Arboretum. - This includes the following rivers and streams... The East Branch DuPage River near Lombard, Morton Arboretum, and Lisle. Salt Creek near Elmhurst, Oak Brook, and Western Springs. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
