Description:
At 828 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Macomb to near Colmar to Elvaston, moving south
at 55 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Macomb, Keokuk, Carthage, Hamilton, Warsaw, Colchester,
Blandinsville, Augusta, Bowen, Industry, Good Hope, Bardolph, West
Point, Ferris, Tennessee, Sciota, Western Illinois University,
Adrian, Fandon, and Burnside.
This also includes Argyle Lake State Park.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern
Iowa.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
