Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southern Cook and northern Lake, IN counties.
* WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be
flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 754 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicate around 1.5 inches of rain have fallen over the past
few hours due to persistent, steady rainfall.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chicago, Hammond, Gary, Tinley Park, Calumet City, Portage,
Merrillville, Chicago Heights, Roseland, East Chicago,
Schererville, Hobart, Lansing, Oak Forest, Harvey, Highland,
Blue Island, Munster, Dolton and Park Forest.
